Props for Kotal Kahn

Some process for the alter peice

So here is the top design without any information just the start but I wanted to make a quick height map that I could use.
I used white to make parts of the design pop out the most.
I used a white solid brush for the major design elements but I used a white brush with an opacity at 40% and pen pressure to fill in the variations in between some elements.
So this is the final outcome of the height/ alpha ill use.

I decided that I wanted to have a cylinder style alter and needed something for the sides as well. I will probably use some sort of Aztec hieroglyphics to place in the blank space  but for the most part I had a repeating design I wanted to use

Lets see how it start to look in UE4

Kotal Kahn

Haven't posted ANYTHING in a long, long time. SO here it goes again!

So Mortal Kombat X came out recently, and of course I bought it. After playing it for a while I wanted to add my own contribution and thus this project of mine was born. So now what? I had an idea but no where to start. I played the MKX story-line to give myself a quick run-down to see how the MK universes has changed since I last played. This is where I met Kotal Kahn and my little homage to him begins. (Though I cant play as him very well.).

Now one of the things that I enjoyed doing was interacting with the stage, I wanted more..... And I loved that Kotal Kahn's theme was base off the Aztecs. They were some fierce warriors. I was checking out MKX environments and felt like Kotal Kahn needs a sacrificing theme stage. I mean Shao Kahn had his Throne room.

I gathered reference from everywhere but one of my heavy influences has been from Apocalypto, and from this scene specifically

Sacrifice Scene

Yeah, I would of been just as scared if I was pinned down like that. So after seeing this I knew this had to be in MKX. I mean who wouldent want to do this in MKX??????
Also if you were to entranced in the scene to notice, they had some cool designs on the outside part of the temple.

A bit more reference and I like the wheel of pain homage in the background :D.

I did a real rough block-out of a Aztec temple to get some ideas flowing and began thinking of some props that could be used for the sacrifice theme stage. I think we need a nice alter to slam our opponents into or perhaps perform facilities using the stage.
